Hi, I'm Brad, a woodworker based in the Atlanta Georgia area of the United States.
I make desks, tables, chairs, cabinetry, storage solutions, cutting boards and more. I have been woodworking since I was a teenager. After a career as a software engineer working for a couple of small businesses as well as two large corporations I decided to step away from a desk to devote my time to creating furniture, cabinetry, and whatever else I find inspiring. My experience developing software has given me a highly detailed approach to the design, form, and function of my pieces.
I enjoy the entire process of creating and handcrafting a piece beginning with sketching an idea, shopping for the perfect type of wood with a specific grain pattern, milling the lumber, cutting the joinery, assembly, finishing, and even delivery when requested. I get a tremendous amount of satisfaction from making something useful that looks nice while also solving a problem for someone.
Having lived in Atlanta since 2012, I've developed relationships with several wood dealers in the area giving me the ability to source a wide range of materials from domestic and exotic woods to sheet goods such as plywood. I'm familiar with several joinery methods as well as many finishes and finishing techniques. While I have my favorite joinery methods and finishes, I choose what will work best to provide the desired look and functionality as opposed to only using my personal favorites.
Some of my work is self-initiated such as cutting boards, lapboards, and giftboxes. At times I will have a small inventory of each of these so they are available for a quick purchase, otherwise there can be a 2 week wait time should I need to make something that I do not have in stock. My commission work primarily consists of cabinetry and furniture such as desks and tables but anything I make can be customized however you would like.
If you are interested in any of my pieces or wish to work with me to design and create a customized solution, please contact me and we can discuss what you have in mind.
I use Instagram to share photos of my work both while in progress and upon completion while my YouTube is used to share videos.
