Music has been a life long passion for me and I've been playing guitar since I was a teenager. I do not have formal luthier training, but I've taught myself enough and figured out enough to build and repair guitars. I will order the necks from a third party such as Warmoth because I'd rather devote my time to other things instead of milling and sculpting a guitar neck, but I will build the guitar body, assemble the guitar, paint/stain/dye and clear coat it, install the hardware, wire the electronics, tune and set it up. My "luthier" work is part fun hobby for me as well as a little business. I will buy guitars that have issues, do the repair work myself then resell them. I currently sell repaired guitars on Reverb and eBay. Below are some of the guitars I've built and finished myself.
I sourced the neck from elsewhere. The body is alder like is typical for a strat style guitar. Toyota used to paint their Camrys a color called Magnetic Gray Metallic and I love how this color looks. I love it so much I sourced the paint and used it to paint this guitar before spraying the nitrocellulose lacquer clear coat.
A close up of the body
Swamp ash body that I opened the grain on before dyeing with Angeles Leather Dye's Jet Black. The body was then sealed before I mixed up silver grain filler to fill the grain with. Another couple of coats of sealer were applied before I finished it with several coats of nitro clearcoat.
