These display shelves were a custom project requested by a client.  They were remodeling their living room and wanted shelving that would insert between the exposed studs.  Conversations with them revealed they wanted wood that had a darker look to it and this walnut is perfect for that.  They also wanted them to have a rough sawn texture.  Due to the lack of available rough sawn walnut, I handled this part of their request by hand.  To accomplish this I took walnut boards that were planed flat and ran them through a milling process by hand that made them appear to be rough sawn lumber.
