deck gate

While I do not build houses or decks, I do craft accessories for them such as this deck gate.  This gate was a custom request and was designed to match the existing railing that surrounds the deck.  Pressure treated wood was used as that is what the deck and railing were built with.  Exterior grade glue, fasteners, and hardware were used to provide a long life for the gate.

I crafted this using the same methods as the railing, down to the spacing and size of the rails so the gate matches the existing deck railing.

Not only is there an exterior grade hook that will keep the gate closed, I also installed another catch for the hook on the railing the gate is mounted to.  This allows the gate to be "locked" in an open position when needed.
